How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who
preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:14-15
What Will You Do?
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents” (Luke 15:10).
The church has become fragmented in their vision. They have left Jesus’ Global vision “Going into every Nation” and have become self contained, self purposed, self motivated by pocketbook idols; being unmoved, unbroken, and unrelenting in their competition in being bigger and better than any other congregation in the neighborhood.
God is looking for a people who will seek Him with all humility, a people who will give their hearts wholeheartedly to His Great Commission; a people who will have compassion on those who are lost, hungry, thirsty, naked, imprisoned, widowed, and orphaned. God is looking for a people who will reach out in agape love. God is looking for a people who will embrace those who are considered to be un-embraceable by the world’s standards with God’s love. God is looking for those who will declare with their whole heart “nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done” Luke (22:42). “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).
We spend billions every year on recreational toys while many people in die daily by the thousands due to starvation and disease. We take no thought that “two people per second of every day” slip into an unsuspecting hell without warning; two people per second of every day who have never heard of the name of Jesus; two people per second of every day slip into eternity never knowing, never hearing, that there is a God in heaven who loves them and wants to save them.
We say we love God while curse the lost (63,072,000 per year) by taking little or no action towards god’s purpose in reaching them; and at the same time, not giving it a second thought in buying the bigger and better glorified toy just for the thrill of it. We buy the Grand RVs, the two and four wheelin’ thrillin’ off road vehicles so we can invite our friends to the campfire and sing campfire songs while reflecting on the good ol’ days. One should consider this: the good ol’ days are the ones set before us. For He has promised us “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him"(1 Corinthians 2:9). If we would just step into His purpose, then our glory days are yet to come. The testimony of God’s saving message is about to unfold as lives are reached for eternity. If we love Jesus, then we need to love Him with our actions and not just with our words alone.
You say, “God will find a way to reach them;” God says, “my church is my way to reach them.” You say “I am just one person, what can I do?” Jesus says, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24).
To follow after Jesus means to make His purpose your occupation. There are more thrills awaiting us in Heaven which all thrills on Earth combined will not compare. Being in the World and not of it should mean that we need to put the glorified toy business out of business and soul reaching business as one of the most desired occupations. “How shall I feel at the judgment, if multitudes of missed opportunities pass before me in full review, and all my excuses prove to be disguises of my cowardice and pride?” Dr. W.E. Sangster
None of the things mentioned in this article are wrong in themselves; however, when they stand in the way of God’s ability to work His purpose through our lives, then we need to evaluate what is more important: the will of God or the things that are standing in His way.
Not all of us are called into the mission field; nevertheless, all of us are called to support those that do go. It is all of our responsibility to pray for the lost, pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers and support the laborers that he sends. It is true that God will supply all His missionaries’ needs according to His riches in glory; however, He supplies those needs through those that obedient to His heartbeat. Every time you give to missions, the treasure that is reached through your gift will be waiting for you in Heaven. Every Christian’s goal, first and foremost should be for the souls of men. Reaching the lost is God’s first priority If you physically cannot go into the Nations of the World for the purpose of the Gospel, then it should be your top priority to support those that can.
